BlackBerry 10 receives video editor and screen sharing according to leak

Remember the BlackBerry 10 Dev Alpha device last week at the BlackBerry Developer summit? The device did give us a preview of the OS, but it didn’t reveal much about how it would be on the PlayBook. However, a leak today appeared on the Crackberry forum and an internal document popped up detailing a tilt-sensitive lock screen that pushes notifications based on the device’s movement, a screen-sharing option, and a video editor resulting from RIM’s acquisition of JayCut. The image above has been reported to be sent in by a trusted  If you want more information/pictures, hit the source link!

AT&T’s One X has a restricted bootloader, HTC responds

HTC has been one of the companies that unlock their bootloaders on its Android devices for the consumer; however, today XDA-Developers forums and MoDaCo discovered that the AT&T HTC One X variant has a locked bootloader. Upon reaching HTC for comments, it responded with this:

HTC is committed to listening to users and delivering customer satisfaction. Since announcing our commitment to unlockable bootloaders, HTC has worked to enable our customers to unlock the bootloader on more than 45 devices over the past six months. In some cases, however, restrictions prevent certain devices from participating in our bootloader unlocking program. Rest assured, HTC is committed to assisting developers in unlocking bootloaders for HTC devices and we’ll continue to unlock additional devices in the future.”

Although we aren’t exactly sure what the “restrictions” are, we believe that it is one of AT&T’s policies. We don’t know for sure yet, but when more information comes up, we’ll be sure to tell you.

AT&T CEO regrets over iPhone unlimited data plans

As we all know, it’s more likely for people to not acknowledge their mistakes (ahem, Apple) than to actually admit it (Nokia). AT&T’s CEO Randall Stephenson today admitted that their iPhone unlimited data model was a regret for him. “My only regret was how we introduced pricing in the beginning, because how did we introduce pricing? Thirty dollars and you get all you can eat. “Every additional megabyte you use in this network, I have to invest capital.” It does seem like AT&T is shifting away from supporting Apple, and instead other ecosystems, like Windows Phone with the huge advertising budget for the Lumia 900.

Furthermore, he talks about how Apple’s iMessage is a classic example of what is disrupting AT&T’s business model; if you’re using iMessage, then you’re not using AT&T’s messaging services.

iPad 2 Refreshed

Planning to buy an iPad 2 soon since it’s cheaper? Well, make sure you buy the right one. Yes, there is a right one. Apple has refreshed its iPad 2 to a new 32nm processor, which is significantly smaller and more efficient than the ones in the old iPad. The model is iPad2,4. According to AnandTech, there’s an overall 16 percent increase in battery life during web browsing and as much as a 30 percent boost when playing games. This is obviously a better deal than the older models, but how are you going to find it at this moment? You can’t really, unless you buy it first and run GeekBench to figure out the mode number, and return it if it isn’t. But is it worth the hassle? You figure that out.

Samsung announces SmartStay and S Voice features for Galaxy S III

Along with Samsung’s new flagship, the Galaxy S III, came two human-friendly features which aim to integrate the phone into everyone’s life. The first one is SmartStay, which keeps the display from timing out by using the camera in the front and detecting whether you are looking at the screen. The second one is S Voice, which could be considered as Samsung’s answer to Siri. In addition to the basic voice-activated dialing and search functions, the phone can wake up, request songs, capture photos and check out the weather with just your voice! At launch, there will only be 8 supported languages, including American/British English, Korean and German. But new languages should be coming after the phone launches in 145 countries.

Samsung and Dropbox partners for 50GB storage

Samsung has partnered up with Dropbox to offer some extra storage for Galaxy S III owners. Upon registering your device, your Dropbox storage will be expanded to 50GB. Sounds too good to be true, right? It’s only valid for 2 years and it’s still unknown whether or not there’s going to be any discounts after. Still, it’s a good deal for 2 years.

Samsung Galaxy S III unveiled!

Lo and behlod, here is Samsung‘s new flagship smartphone after a series of leaks: the Galaxy S III. It was just released in the company’s Mobile Unpacked event in London. This 133g (4.7 ounces) flagship smartphone is 8.6mm at its thickest point, along with Samsung’s new 1.4GHz Exynos 4 Quad processor (like the MX) and 1GB of RAM. Display-wise, there’s a 4.8-inch HD Super AMOLED display (Pentile), with a 1280 x 720 resolution. Coming along with it is a standard 8-megapixel rear camera and 1.9-megapixel in the front. Connectivity-wise, it spots HSPA+, along with a promised LTE model coming soon. What’s it running on? TouchWiz on top of Android 4.0, along with some new gesture functions that Samsung added. Availability is this summer for Canadians, but we’re not sure what it is for the rest of the world. However, it should be before June (probably before the MX Quad so that it can claim to be the first phone to use the new Quad processor). Check out updates after the break.

Supposed Galaxy S III leaks again, with rounded glass

Another post, another leak! As we come closer and closer to Samsung’s official unveiling date for the Galaxy S III, another picture of what it claims to be the device itself shows up. The above picture, obtained from SamMobile, shows the Galaxy S III with the label GT-I9300 and rounded glass, similar to the Lumia devices. Although we don’t believe this is the actual device itself, it may be a prototype as we’re pretty sure that there wouldn’t be a hardware button. But then again, we won’t know until the day of the event. Keep checking in, and we’ll keep you posted!

Samsung Canada beings ICS rollout today

Samsung is currently the largest Android phone manufacturer and seller; however, Ice Cream Sandwich has still not shown up on Samsung’s devices (not officially), until today, that is. For the first time ever, Canada begins the rollout of Samsung’s TouchWiz-flavoured ICS to select devices continuously. The list includes the Galaxy S II (with all its variants), the Galaxy Note and the Galaxy Tabs. However, be patient about it as these update rollouts can take a long time. Can’t wait? Give the manual update method a try.
