There’s been a lot of noise at xda-developers about the changes HTC made to the multitasking behaviour on the One X compared to the stock ICS rom. Other than the obvious tweaks like the horizontal, card-like arrangement, there’s also memory and task management differences. Users have noticed that their background apps have been terminated too aggressively, and many complained about it. HTC responds saying that the multitasking is operating as intended by HTC and confirms that it is part of the Sense UI. This may be why battery life is extremely impressive on AT&T’s One X. If you don’t like your apps being killed suddenly, you can install custom ROMs after rooting your phone.

Been waiting for the new MacBook Pro refresh? Well, many are speculating that it will be released on June 11 at Apple’s Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC). Along with the date, there has been many rumours on what the refresh will bring, like Ivy Bridge processors, a 2048 x 1536 Retina Display, and a thinner profile along with SSD for quick bootups. It’s been a while since the MacBook Pro has received a significant update on form factor and functions, and since most of Apple’s other products have undergone some changes, it should be the MacBook Pro’s turn this year. Stay tuned as we bring you the most updated news and rumours of the MacBook Pro refresh!

After the official release of the Ivy Bridge processors from Intel, we’ve received a slew of updated laptops. However, Apple has yet to announce theirs, but it should be soon. Today, two devices appeared on the Geekbench site that shed some light on how the Ivy Bridge performs on MacBook Pros and the iMac. An unknown “MacBookPro9,1″ powered by an Ivy Bridge Core i7-3820QM running at 2.7GHz achieved a benchmark of 12252, which is around 17 percent better than the current equivalent Core i7. The second one, from an “iMac13,2″ running the i7-3770 desktop chip clocked at 3.4GHz only scored 12183, but that’s because it was restricted by the 4GB of RAM. Overall, these are pretty good results, but take it with a grain of salt as these could be fake, or from non-finalized hardware.

Also, 9to5Mac has dug around and pulled from the Mountain Lion beta that indicates upcoming Ivy Bridge machines will have USB 3.0 and a new GPU in the NVIDIA GeForce GT650M, along with a slimmer profile.

Remember two days ago when Siri announced its love for the Nokia Lumia 900? Well, today the Lumia 800 also announced its love, but it’s for Siri. Surprise surprise! Actually, the reason for different result is because Siri bases its answer on Wolfram Alpha for the most part, which means it is only drawing from certain and limited sources, while Microsoft’s TellMe service uses Bing’s search service, and the first link will be the Business Insider article with this headline: “Yes, The iPhone Is Still The Best Smartphone You Can Buy”, which is really coincidental as it somehow does answer Siri’s response.

Remember the Nokia Pureview 808? Yes, the 41-megapixel imaging flagship. It seems like the Lumia 900 and its siblings will be joined by this device soon in the US market. Nokia executive Chris Weber explained to PC Mag that the company is aiming to release the Pureview 808 in the US market in the next couple of months. It’s not exactly surprising, as it did pass the FCC testing. Interestingly, this phone will only be sold unlocked, and Weber confirms that the phone will definitely support AT&T, without saying anything else for other bands. Keep your hopes up though, as the international edition is likely to hit the stateside.

With the iPhone 4S, Siri was released. Siri is your friendly assistant on your iPhone and we know that she definitely has her own personality. However, it seems like Siri doesn’t exactly like her creator, as she answered truthfully that the best cellphone is the Cyan Nokia Lumia 900. Yup, not the iPhone, and not an Android, but a Windows Phone. If Steve Jobs saw this, we’re sure he won’t be pleased, but at least it’s not Android, which Steve Jobs believes is the ultimate evil.

Are you preparing an app for the Windows Store for Windows 8? Is your app a “great” app? If you answered yes to all those questions, then Microsoft will be able to help you get your apps in before everyone else. Developer Evangelist Matt Harrington is offering developers who develop a “great” app a fast track to get the app submitted into the Store first. Furthermore, these acknowledged few will get help from a Microsoft engineer to make it truly a great app. Although we don’t exactly know when everyone will be able to submit the app, it should be rather soon as the OS is slated for release Q4 of 2012 or Q1 of 2013.
