Earlier today, The Daily posted the above photo, claiming that Microsoft Office will land on the iPad soon, but Microsoft has replied saying that the story “is based on inaccurate rumors and speculation” and that it’ll be clear ” in the “coming weeks“”. Yes, that’s right, the double quotation marks aren’t a mistake; Microsoft put that themselves. Although The Daily‘s editor Peter Ha replied that the app was demoed to them by someone at Microsoft, the software giant is still denying the story. I guess we’ll have to wait and see for ourselves in the “coming weeks”.

Update:

The Daily has posted another picture:

After showing the Ascend P1S at the CES in January, a dual core phone , very thin and powerful, and above all with android 4.0 Huawei is striking again and teasing a new phone, the Ascend D1 Q. This device is going to be the new flagship of the premium Huawei phones line. But this time the handset comes with a Tegra 3 processor. This quad core phone will run on android 4.0 ice cream sandwich.

It’s difficult to have an opinion about this device yet. Huawei is taking some distances with ZTE. We used to see Huawei producing low cost phones. Lets see how it goes if Huawei want to be a well known brand like Motorola, Samsung, LG, Sony..

More information are coming at the Mobile World Congress at Barcelona. Stay tuned.

There’s so many iPad 3 rumors out there, but now it seems like a picture of it has been leaked. However, take it with a grain of salt as it could very well be photoshopped. Anyways, Taiwan news site Apple Daily has posted a photo of what they believe to be the next iPad. From the picture, we can clearly see a bigger camera lens with the rumored 8 megapixel camera. Also, their report said that the edges are slightly redesigned, along with a 2048 x 1536 Retina Display. Apple is rumored to be announcing the iPad 3 the first week of March, which isn’t a long wait away!

However, this time around, the OS X Mountain Lion upgrade won’t be offered on a USB stick. Why? Apple believes the App Store is enough for the upgrade. Think Apple’s hinting you should upgrade your internet? We think so.

We know there’s a Samsung Galaxy Note and a Galaxy Tab 10.1, but a fusion of the two? That certainly seems likely according to the image above. This possible-slate was named on Samsung’s developer event at Mobile World Congress (MWC), and we’re definitely hoping that a bigger version of the Note will show up. Furthermore, there’s a listing at Backstage looking for a teen student to be filmed using a Galaxy Note 10.1. There definitely can’t be that many typos, right? Also, these two evidence has now been taken off, which increases our suspicion even more. Well, we’ll just have to wait for MWC to see if it’s true. Of course, we’ll be bringing you the latest coverage at MWC.

Computer parts manufacturer msi has unveiled a Thunderbolt connected cabinet that houses desktop class graphic cards, the GUS II. Sacrificing portability for power is maybe a thing of the past when msi fires up their cabinet connected to a MacBook Pro at CES.

The GUS II cabinet ships with the fairly potent Radeon HD 6770. However, you can plug in any 150 W TDP graphics card according to msi. There are also plans on shipping the Radeon HD 6850.

Thunderbolt is a high bandwidth data transfer interface, made by Intel and is currently up against the non standardized USB 3.0 interface. msi says that GUS II’s performance over Thunderbolt is that of PCI Express x4 but that it will only lead to a frame rate loss of maximum ten percent compared to same card mounted in a desktop computer. So nothing to worry about there!

The msi GUS II is due for release in May this year. Prices starts at 249 USD with pre-installed Radeon HD 6770. We like!
NB: Even though the GUS II is tested on a MacBook Pro, you can only run non-Mac OS graphics cards under Windows in for example Boot camp.

MakerBot Industries, presented their latest open source 3D printer at CES. MakerBot lets you create almost anything!

The MakerBot Replicator™ is a personal 3D printer, and by its compact size it has no problem sitting on your desktop. Though the limit of printed products is drawn at the size of a loaf of bread, there are designs that lets you combine modules to form bigger things.

The printer uses ABS (what Lego® is made of) or PLA (a biodegradable material made from corn), and prints usually in one color, but there’s a two-nozzle option allowing you to print with multiple colors and materials.

So when you’re missing a doorknob or want to create a custom sword or a bust of your grand-pa, just download one from the community Thingiverse.com and start printing or simply make your own!

The infamous file sharing site The Pirate Bay seems to have discovered a new field of piracy. On their blog they proclaim that withing 20 years, you’ll be able to download and print your next pair of sneakers. That’s why The Pirate Bay launches Physibles, their new section of 3D printing files. So far 13 models are up, among them are a whistle, a car model and the Pirate Bay logo ship.

Imagine printing anything at home in the future. It would lower transport costs across all sectors of society. What would you print? Let us know!
