Jelly Bean update now available for AT&T Samsung Galaxy SIII

The wait is finally over! Christmas came early for those using the Samsung Galaxy SIII from AT&T because Android 4.1.1 Jelly Bean with TouchWiz is waiting for you. This update will make your phone feel new again. To install the latest update, use Kies to check for an update – for those who don’t know, this is Samsung’s proprietary software.

An over the air update (OTA) is not yet available but you at least have the option to update it using your computer.  The Jelly Bean update should enhance scrolling fluidity and frame rates with Project Butter. On the other hand, Jelly Bean adds new features like Google Now, Offline voice typing, expandable notifications and resizable pop-up play windows (TouchWiz exclusive).  Enjoy!

Congratulations, you are now only one version behind and using a poor UI. Next year expect to join those already running 4.2.1.

For the most part, I won’t recommend users to upgrade to android 4.2. I’m writing this message on a nexus 7 on android 4.2 and it has been the buggiest android software I’ve ever used. Clock app crashed every minute with multiuser and many apps don’t support android 4.2 so they don’t work at all now.
