According to reports by multiple sources (The Verge, iMore, Bloomberg), the announcement event for the iPhone and iPad mini has been set for September 12th, with the tentative release date of the next generation iPhone 5 set for September 21st. The release of the 7 inch iPad mini will follow suit shortly after.
