Lenovo outs IdeadPad U300e, U300′s brother with a hybrid

Lenovo sure has a lot going on with Ultrabooks. At Lenovo’s showroom in CES, a gray laptop was hidden, and that is the IdeaPad U300e, a cheaper, less-powerful version of the U300s. Although it is cheaper, it has the same aluminum chassis, a comfortable keyboard and trackpad, along with the same ports albeit a different arrangement. What’s different is that the U300e adds an Ethernet jack, which isn’t much of a use nowadays. More importantly, the U300e costs $799 instead of $1,200, which is definitely worth the trade-off of a SSD into a hybrid drive of a 500GB HDD and 32GB of flash storage (similar to the Acer Aspire S3). It’s also been said that it runs on Intel’s “next-generation processor“, but they aren’t calling it Ivy Bridge. This is definitely a great deal compared to the U300 and might even give other competitors a run for the money. When is it released? End of this month, so get ready to go get one!
