Market research firm ComScore brings us today yet more news confirming Android’s launch. Previously, we reported that the Android mobile platform had grown over 1,400% in the past year for new sales. Now, we can also tell you that when looking at the current U.S. subscription base, Android has grown with 6.5 percentage points from July to October this year. Currently, Android stands at 23.5%, just one percent below iPhone. Meanwhile, RIM (BlackBerry) has lost some market share. What remains to be seen is how Microsoft has fared. Since the Windows Phone 7 platform was released in November (which this report doesn’t cover), we’ll have to wait until next time ComScore releases a report to find out.
